The usual choice for backup: cheap storage, and the first 10 GB is free.
A bucket is the container your folders will be backed up into. One is enough; SimDrive puts each folder in its own path inside it.
The region is chosen for you when the account is created and is baked into that endpoint. Copy it from the bucket page rather than guessing: the wrong region fails as a DNS error that says nothing useful.
This is the key pair SimDrive signs its requests with.
The Master Application Key at the top of that page does not work with the S3-compatible API at all. Entering it in SimDrive gives "InvalidAccessKeyId". Always create an ordinary application key.
| Region | From the bucket's endpoint, e.g. us-east-005 |
|---|---|
| keyID | Shown when the application key is created |
| applicationKey | Shown once, at creation |
| Bucket | The bucket name; typed if the key is limited to one bucket |
In SimDrive: Settings → Storage → Connect storage → Backblaze B2, or the Backblaze B2 tile on the Get started screen of a new install. Keys and sign-ins are stored on your machine only and never reach us.
These steps were last walked through in the Backblaze B2 console on 2026-09-12. Consoles move their menus; if a name above has changed, the thing to look for is the same. Tell us at support@simsondesk.com and we will update the page.
SimDrive is free, for Windows, Linux and macOS. Install it, connect your storage with the steps above, and choose the folders to back up.
